Data Protection Act (DPA) - This act is designed to prevent the theft of sensitive materials as well as make sure that the data is stored fairly and keeps to the individual rights of the user. Also personal data the user has the right to access their details at any given moment. The user has the right to change any incorrect information whenever they desire. If this right is refused or the company does not comply with any aspect of this right the user has the ability to take the company to court and either have the information changed or to have the information deleted on the grounds of failure to comply with the Data Protection Act.

The firewall protects every aspect of the webpage that you are on and makes sure that it is safe to use. Without this anyone can see what you are on and have been on and just effectively leaves your computer open to anyone.
Secure Socket Layers - is the process that is the standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between the server and the user, this connection should be kept secure as the information that that is being exchanged in the link is normally private.
