Copyright is part of the law that gives the owner of a document, musical composition, book, picture, or other  work they created the right to decide what other people can do with it. Copyright laws make it easier for authors to make money by selling their works. Because of copyright work can only be copied if the owner of the created work gives permission.
Before using an image that you found the user should ask the owner of the content whether or not the it can be used.  Usually the user of the image would be required to pay the designer in order to use their design.
If you are caught using copyrighted content, the Internet Service Providers have the power to  shut down your site because of breaching terms and conditions. You could find yourself being sued if you made a profit from the copyrighted content without having the correct permission.
Trademark is a recognizable sign, design or expression which identifies products or services from a particular source from those of others. This can be an individual or a business. Depending on the extent of trademark violation, you can be taken to court for fraud.
Some examples of intellectual property could include: Music, Literature or other artistic work. Under intellectual property laws, the owners are granted certain rights. Intellectual property legislation's are a form of property. Due to it being considered intangible property the creators of the property are allowed to share or transfer ownership of the property however an unrelated person will be prosecuted for using the property without it being transferred from the creator.
